Why should employee sustain in your Organization?

Dear Friends, on 4th November I heard Mr. Bipinbhai, the owner of the Gopal Namkeen in Rajkot  Knowledge knight program which was organized by SMMART Training & Consultancy Services. Really, I salute the personality. I am fortunate enough to hear such a dynamic personality. Because when they had completed their speech at that time all audiences stood up and the hall reverberated with applause being a consultant, I learned a lot and I am sure many entrepreneurs who had attended that program had also learnt from them. Last month I wrote an article on “The Real Reason – Good Employee Quit”. Many entrepreneurs don’t have any queries related to sales. Because they knew how to do that. Their major concern was How to retain the employee. When I heard Mr. Bipinbhai, then I came to know that in their company many employees are on the waiting list. They never get any type of pain how to hire. So, let’s see what they are doing which we can adopt. Before coming on to the topic, let me brief about the Gopal Namkeen.

The journey of "Gopal Namkeen" started in the year 1965 by the members of Vithhal Bhai Haribhai Hadavani & Family for supplying snacks and namkeens to local Market in Rajkot. “Slow and steady wins the race”, that is true in the case of ‘GOPAL NAMKEEN’. The company had started its own product line in the year 1994.
Shri Bipinbhai is the man with a vision who gave birth to Gopal Namkeen. His unique way of approach to building businesses has been at the core of Gopal’s unprecedented success and love from the consumers. His philosophy is “Take care of your employees, customers and stakeholders, the business will take care of itself.” A very down to earth and a natural leader who is committed to taking Gopal Namkeen to every corner of India and the world. As he says “Gopal is not just my company, it belongs to all our employees.” He is also known as the man, who can draw a blueprint of a plant/machinery by just looking at it.
Before writing one main thing I just want to say that before either on thinking how to hire an employee we should think how to sustain an employee. Because I felt that many times employees didn’t find any reason why to work for your company. Now let’s see how Gopal Namkeen is taking care of their employees and what we can learn from them.
1.      Use of Technology: At Gopal Namkeen, they always tried to use the latest technology. So that each employee can enjoy their work. Sometimes what I observed after spending 4 years with SME’s, entrepreneurs felt that their plant and machinery is in better condition. But employees are frustrated by using outdated technology.
So, it's better to use latest machinery and equipment's. So, the employee also can enjoy their work
2.      Always care of employee:
a.      Accommodation Facility: At Gopal they have built accommodation facilities for Girls and Boys which has a bed capacity of 650 each.
b.      Pick-up & Drop Services: Gopal Namkeen also provides 24 hours pick up and drop services to the Locals living in and around Rajkot

c.       Annual Trips
Gopal Namkeen arranges for an annual trip for all its employees. They incentivize their top 250 performers with an international trip where they also arrange for their visas and passports.

d.      Medical Assistance:
They are providing in-house doctor facility of a general physician to their employees for the betterment of their health.

e.       Canteen Facilities: Healthy, hygienic and nutritious meals prepared in house for their employees during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

f.       Celebration of each festival: Being a people oriented company they always ready to celebrate their events.

g.      Uniformity & Discipline: They are providing uniform for their employees.
h.   Other Benefits: This company always believes in giving. They are also contributing approx Rs. 5 lacs to 10 lacs for Kanyadan in a year.

My dear entrepreneurs these are the some benefits which have been made by an entrepreneur. And they are enjoying these things.  Apart from these their turnover has almost seen a growth of 250 times over the past 10 years. They have never faced any type of issues related to employee hiring and sustaining. So, I am sure we will learn something from this and will definitely implement in our company.
